Remarks on an Epidemic of Ague with Jaundice in the 15th Loodianah Sikhs at Kandahar in April 1879

one old case of jaundice, one case of dysentery, and uix cases of congestive diarrhoea. On 4th April one case of ague was admitted, presenting no peculiarity. On the 6th two cases were admitted, having a distinctly jaundiced appearance ; and from this date to the 25th, 31 cases of ague, with marked hepatic derangement in every instance, and actual jaundice in many ; 4 cases of jaundice without ague, and 1 case of congestion of the liver, without ague or jaundice, were admitted to hospital. After the 25th the cases of ague admitted were free from hepatic complication, and were much less frequent than in the period above indicated.
